Not sure if they are still there but in front of WRAL-TV they had a pinwheel display for the Prevention of Child Abuse in North Carolina. Great cause and a lot of fun trying to shoot at different shutter speeds. We stopped for a few minutes and tried to capture some motion of the pinwheels being turned by the cars driving along Western Blvd.
Pinwheel gardens represent our effort to focus on community activities that support families and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur.
Pinwheels are increasingly being used to help educate communities about the importance of supporting children and families. Shining in the sun, the pinwheel is reflective of the bright future all children deserve and our belief that getting it right early is less costly than trying to fix it later.
These were taken with the Nikon D7000 and the 18-270mm Tamron lens. My goal was to try to capture some movement while keeping the colors consistent.
