Overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon is one of the two (maybe three) restaurants of the Mexican Pavilion – La Hacienda de San Ángel. The restaurant has outstanding food and a great view of the Illuminations fireworks show and food that is equally impressive. We shared the massive La Hacienda a “mixed grill offering New York strip, half a chicken al pastor, chorizos and vegetables, served with beans and fresh salsas.” The steak was excellent and the chicken was extremely well seasoned with a slight taste of cinnamon sweetness. The biggest surprise on the plate was the chorizo – the small sausages were unlike any I’ve had in this area and a great compliment to the sweetness of the chicken.
We opted out of an appetizer or dessert and had to walk around the world twice we ate so much. I would put this on the highly recommended list in EPCOT. Reservations are a good idea and probably a little in advance if you want to watch the fireworks with your dinner.
