The Hands-On Kitchen, presented by SCE&G, is a dynamic learning experience in the creation of classic Lowcountry and Southern dishes. Learn to pickle, knead, devil, and craft cuisine in the heart of our Culinary Village, side-by-side with chefs and culinary personalities. These mini-classes are first come, first serve, so sign up and get ready to get your hands dirty!
This session featured on of our favorites Master Baker Lionel Vatinet of La Farm Bakery teaching bread-making skills. We participated in his class last year learned some new skills and had a lot of fun. This year we used the Osmo to tape others doing the same thing. It’s a short video but it will give you a good idea of what happens in the Hands-On Kitchen in the Culinary Village and what you could learn if you attend the Charleston Wine and Food Festival.
