Flying Biscuit – The Village District

Looking for a spot to grab brunch or lunch? Swing by the Flying Biscuit in the Village District. Their first cafe opened in Atlanta in 1993 and they have been in the Village District since 2009. They are known for their signature biscuits. Now they have over 29 locations and we are lucky to have two right here in Raleigh. Their concept is Southern-inspired comfort food made with fresh ingredients. They actually bake almost 5,000 biscuits each week! Once you try them you will know why! They are so good.

Here is what we had to eat.

  • High-Flyer – Two eggs served with chicken sage sausage, grits, and an oatmeal pancake with a peach compote.
  • Patty Melt – 1/2 a pound Black Angus Ground Beef served with crispy onion strings, white cheddar cheese, and FB Burger sauce served on rye.

Here is what we had to drink.

  • Super Bacon Bloody Mary – premium vodka with homemade bloody mary mix, bacon salt rim, a full side of bacon, and enough “fixins” to make it a meal.
  • Georgia Peach Punch – Maker’s Mark, Peach Schnapps, OJ, Sour Mix, and a Sprite float.

Everything we tried was great but my favorite was the patty melt for sure! It was the perfect burger. I loved the crunch of the crispy onions. I also really enjoyed my Georgia Peach Punch. This was the perfect refreshing drink to beat this hot summer heat.

Flying Biscuit is a great spot to grab a delicious breakfast but you can also grab lunch or dinner as well. They have a great patio space and you can even do take-out if you need something quick. Next time you are in the Village District and looking for a bite to eat, make sure to check out the Flying Biscuit.
