I am really ashamed to admit i have lived in Raleigh as long as I have and have not had a chance to visit Earp’s Seafood. The market is located just south of downtown on South Saunders Street. The store has a cult like following.
When I visited I wasn’t sure what I wanted to buy. To be honest, preparing fish is a intimidating to me. There was a nice guy named Ricky that was happy share all the options and how to best prepare the fish. They had lots of fresh options that day-tile fish, shark and shrimp. I ended up picking out the grouper. Did I mention they fillet the fish for you free of charge? I love a place that does all the hard work for you.
We ended up grilling the grouper in a foil packet. We added some cherry tomatoes from my container garden and onions. It was wonderful and really easy.
I would highly suggest checking out Earp’s Seafood and make sure to ask for Ricky.
