We got to visit the CAM Museum while visiting Wilmington. We loved the museum and the food was amazing.
The Cameron Art Museum seeks to provide a cultural gathering place that enriches the lives of museum visitors and the community through high-quality exhibitions, dynamic public programs, unique events and educational opportunities in the visual and performing arts.
While visiting we got to check out the Created by Light Exhibit which features photographs from North Carolina Collections. The exhibition examines the evolution of photography highlighting the names of the medium; the connections between the institutions and NC artists working in the medium. There were so many wonderful images but my favorite is the image of Martin Luther King, Jr at his funeral. It was such a powerful image. The exhibit runs through February so make sure to check it out.
In addition to great art, the cafe focuses on eating creatively. They provide fresh and local food.
What we had to eat: Pittsburgh Cheesesteak – Seasoned beef, American cheese, french fries, lettuce, tomato, coleslaw. Claude’s Club – White bread, ham, turkey, cherrywood bacon, swiss, cheddar, hydro bibb lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo, honey mustard.
The food was great and the portions were big. I loved how they put a creative twist on a sandwich, but you are at an art museum so this should be expected.
