Years before the drone fleet we had an idea to attach a small action camera to a kite and fly it. This was pre-GoPro and at the time a risky idea for both the kite and the camera. We found a camera model that worked well and had a few successful runs but the camera quality was bad and the kite was heavy.
This past Sunday we had a lot of wind here in Raleigh and decided to patch up the original Kite Cam this time with an old GoPro3 to see what it could do. We had a crash that I am afraid super glue and tape won’t fix. The harness bracket broke in two. So back to the drones and maybe looking for a new kite cam the next time we head to the Outer Banks.
