Kids today will never experience the buzz, the hiss or the static of what we used to go through to connect to the internet. If you are familiar with it you can probably hear it in your head right now. I miss those “happy sounds” of my computer joining the rest of the world in the pursuit of porn knowledge and interaction.
This is that familiar sound 700% slower. A little creepy but pretty cool at the same time. The phone to the right is not like any modem I ever had but it reminds me of the War Games modem that made me want to become a world class hacker and play tic-tac-toe against a super computer. Neither has happened but I am betting the machine on my desk is more powerful than the fictional Global Thermonuclear War simulator in the movie.
