This year Raleigh hosted the American Cheese Society’s Festival of Cheese.

One of the biggest and most comprehensive events of its kind, the Festival of Cheese boasts some 1,600+ artisan, farmstead, and specialty cheeses and cultured products from throughout North America for attendees to sample.

We didn’t attend the festival but we did go to the day after cheese sale. No – the people running the event were not thrilled with the “who cut the cheese” jokes. Maybe they had heard it more than once this weekend?

We picked up a couple of nice pieces of cheese and enjoyed seeing the leftovers of the festival. So far – not bad – for something so cheesy.
