Post workout but pre-coffee I decided to try Starbuck’s latest offering the Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew. It only comes in one size and it grows on you as you drink it. At first I was disappointed but by the end it is definitely a drink I would have again. The question is – is it really any better for you than my usual Starbuck’s drink the Caffè Misto.
Full Starbucks descriptions and nutrition facts below but comparing drink to drink the Cacao has more than twice the calories, fat and carbs of the Misto. When it comes to protein – the main draw in my opinion of the Cacao – it is only 3g more. The Cacao packs a larger punch when it comes to caffeine but it also hits you harder in the wallet with almost twice the cost. Given the run down of the numbers I will probably stick with my usual drink in the future. The Cacao was a nice change and for a cold brew it wasn’t bad but there isn’t enough there for me to keep drinking it.
