The restaurant space formerly occupied by Bolt is now Pizza La Stella. We were able to check them out during their live training day for the first pizza, thanks to our friends from WRAL Out & About. As you enter the space it is completely renovated. It is much more casual and comfortable than Bolt.

Pizza La Stella bills themselves as the craft of pizza and cocktails. There are two wood fired ovens. The meats for the pizzas come from Italy. Make sure to make your way upstairs where they offer specialty cocktails. It feels like a great place to go to grab a drink after work and enjoy.

What we had to eat: Fire Roasted Brussels with bacon bourbon whole grain mustard, rosemary and honey, The Old-Fashioned Wood Fired Wings with apple cider bourbon, cinnamon and charred orange, Margherita La Stella pizza with mozzarella di bufalo, San Marzano tomatoes and basil, and Carnoso pizza with fontina cheese, San Marzano tomatoes, Italian Sausage, and Italian bacon.

My favorite was the Margherita pizza and the sprouts. This was a great place to grab a pizza. Can’t wait to get a chance to go back. Had a chance to visit Pizza La Stella? Let me know what you had to eat!
