Last night we tried to eat a late dinner at Jose and Sons and they had stopped seating for the evening. I won’t lie – the food smelled amazing. We accepted our fate for the evening but promised ourselves we would return. Today for brunch we made good on our word and it proved to be an excellent decision. The menu is described as a combination of Mexican and Southern and you can see the distinct influences of each in the very creative dishes.

I don’t think there is a bad direction to go on the menu but I highly recommend you start with the guacamole. We tried the Guadalajara Skillet and the Steak and Egg Sammy after debating Breakfast BLT Tacos and Chicharron and Waffles (a take on fried chicken and waffles). Everything was well cooked and beautifully presented.  I was extremely impressed with the eggs in both dishes that were poached to perfection.

If you haven’t been to Jose and Sons I say add it to the shortlist and if you have been but haven’t tried brunch I think you would enjoy it.
